What it means to "Flush" something, and when to do so
When the installation for a Library item fails, it can be for a number of reasons. If Kandji receives confirmation that the installation of a Library item has failed, then that Library item installation will not be attempted again on that device.
This is designed so that you do not have endlessly attempted downloads and installations to all devices. Before attempting to deploy the Library item again, you will need to identify the cause for the error received and rectify the issue.
Once you are ready for another attempt, perform the Flushing Action for the Library item on the device. Once the previous error is "flushed," Kandji will attempt the installation again. To do so, take the following steps:
- Navigate to Library in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Select the Library Item in question.
- Click on the Status tab to see a list of all devices the Library item is assigned to.
- Press the Flush button on the right of the device(s) you wish to re-attempt the install.
There are many possible reasons a Library Item installation could fail. Additionally, if the installation of a Library Item has not yet completed, then Kandji will continue to attempt installation. Flushing is only for when an installation fails and the cause has been identified and resolved.
