# HIPAA Compliance

### What is HIPAA?

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Rule defines a series of administrative, technical, and physical security procedures for covered entities to use in order to assure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronically-protected health information.

### Do I need a Business Associates Agreement with Kandji?

Kandji does not store or manage PHI/PII (Personally Identifiable Information/Protected Health Information). Therefore, we do not qualify as a covered entity for HIPAA compliance. Additionally, a BAA (Business Associates Agreement) is not needed.
