Learn about alerts and their capabilities.
Overview
Alerts allow Kandji to inform you of important information about your devices. By enabling specific Parameters, you can specify the type of alerts that are generated. Alerts are presented inside the Alerts section found in the left hand navigation bar. You can also configure our Slack Integration to receive specified alerts to public channels.
There is no functionality to manually dismiss an alert.
Enabling Parameter Alerts
Alerts are available for select Parameters, distinguishable by the bell icon next to the on/off toggle. When the Parameter and it's Alert are enabled, relevant events will display within the alerts section.
For example, when using the "Report available macOS updates", an alert will be generated if a software update becomes available for any Mac enrolled in the associated Blueprint.
Muting Parameter Alerts
Alerts can be muted within the Parameter they are enabled. By clicking on the bell icon an admin can mute an alert, which will still log the alert for viewing and tracking, but will not result in an indicator in the left-hand navigation bar.
Library Alerts
All library items will show an alert if the library item fails. This includes library items such as Profiles, Custom Scripts, Custom Printers, Custom Apps, and App Store Apps. Any Failure such as a custom app failing to install, or a configuration profile failing to install will trigger an entry to the alerts section as shown below.
Viewing Alerts
Clicking on Alerts in the left-hand navigation bar will take you to new alerts. Within the Alerts tab, you will be able to view details of all current alerts. Current Alerts result in an indicator in the left-hand navigation bar.

Cleared Alerts
The alert, "Enable FileVault 2" may be displayed if you have recently enabled FileVault for devices. This is likely due to deferred enablement being active for a user. Each user will be prompted to enable FileVault on the next login.
